So something I have forgot to mention in the blog is that Christopher and I have been sick since Sunday. Head cold, cough, runny nose, etc. I don't think it has helped that 9 out of 11 days in Italy it has been raining pretty much all day. We have not appreciated the forecast that much. Tuscany is supposed to feel warm and sunny and you should be able to sit outside at cafes...not on this trip. The weather kind of keeps you "under the weather"...if you know what I mean. I am ready for no more snot! :)
So for todays activities...the churches in Florence you have to pay to go into. So I people watched while Christopher went into Santa Croce where Galileo and Michelangelo are buried. After that we went to Bargello museum. It was nice. This place at one point was a prison and at one time was a palace ("That will preach"). To me those words can be interchangeable at some level because both have you trapped in a sense...just at different levels of the food chain.
We ate lunch at this side street local, amazing place. It made it the best because we watched as the ladies cooking licked the spoon multiple times and were eating as they go. It was definitely the most authentic food we have had. No, really the food was amazing. Photos are not on this blog but trust me...they were good.
Took a bus to a city close to Florence called Fiesole. Christopher took a rest on the way up to Fiesole. It has some incredible views of Florence.
Came back to Florence and paid to go into the Santa Maria novella church (Christ Church - I know how to pay off the building!! Its just joke!!). They have a perfumery that has been around since the 16th century. It was amazing!
Ok thats all for now...pics will come later! :)
I am believing God to heal you both completely of your "head colds" and allow you both to make the best out of your "pilgrimage'. LOVE YOU BOTH.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for praying. It worked. We had a great pilgrimage. Love you guys too!
